SAINT MICHAEL’S READER MINISTRY

Are you a confident public speaker with the gift of painting a picture through story telling? Do you want to share the Word of God with your fellow parishioners? Consider becoming a reader at Mass! Readers assist in the liturgy by reading the First and Second Reading.

If you enjoy the Bible and sharing the Word of God and have a clear and passionate voice, you will love being part of this liturgical ministry. The only qualifications are that you have been confirmed and are a confident public speaker. Training is provided, and you’ll just need to arrive to Mass about 20 minutes early to prepare.

READER MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT

Scripture is the living Word of God. This Word took flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. As Lectors of St. Michael’s Parish we will proclaim the Word of God so that it will continue to take flesh before the Assembly at each and every Mass. We will approach this through a loving knowledge of Scripture, prayer for enlightenment and understanding and submission to God’s graces to proclaim His Word so as to be understood and to enhance the spiritual growth of the Parish.
