PASTORAL CARE

Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father. - Matthew 6:16

The purpose of Pastoral Care at St. Michael's Church is to serve others. We do so in a variety of ways: through outreach, through connections with parish and community resources, and through prayer.

Whether you need help or prayers, or can give help or prayers, you're welcome here at the Pastoral Care Desk.

Please note, to share a prayer request, we must have direct permission from the person for whom prayer is being offered.

SOME OF THE WAYS WE SERVE

Through the Pastoral Care and Social Action Office, we strive to put into practice the spiritual and corporal works of mercy as a way of caring for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We do this in a number of ways. Our Pastoral Care Desk volunteers proactively reach out to the sick and the elderly of our parish each week; we listen to the needs of our parishioners and organize prayer for those in need through our Partners in Prayer ministry; and we direct calls for help to appropriate parish ministries, as well as other outreach agencies.

The Pastoral Care Desk can connect those in need with our priests and other pastoral care ministries such as:

  • Eucharist visits to the homebound, hospitalized, and those living in senior living centers
  • Meals in Need
  • Volunteer Caregivers
  • Elizabeth Ministry (Visitation to the Sick and Homebound)
  • Prayer Blankets Ministry
  • Prayers of the Faithful
  • Emergency Assistance

The Pastoral Care Office can connect Parishioners and non parishioners to other community resources, as well.

If you are in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. There is no judgement; we truly want to help you with whatever your struggle may be.
