Announcing Our New Associate Dir. of Hispanic Ministry
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lilian Mendoza-Teran as Associate Director of Hispanic Ministry, effective October 21, 2025.
Lilian was born in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, and spent her teenage years in La Paz, Baja California Sur. She is the youngest of seven siblings and the first in her family to attend college, in Mexicali, Baja California, where she met her husband. They have two daughters, Lilian and Sofía. Lilian and her family eventually moved to Thousand Oaks, California, and later to North Carolina.
Lilian comes to St. Michael with five years of experience working in parish ministry, most recently at St. Stephen in Sanford. She enjoys traveling, spending time in nature, being with family and friends, dancing, reading a good book, and learning new things. She also served as president of a nonprofit organization in her community in Thousand Oaks, California.
In this newly created role, Lilian will work with our Hispanic community and the parish at large. She will be primarily responsible for organizing and coordinating all groups, ministries, programs, and initiatives related to the evangelization and lay ministry of Hispanic members of St. Michael, including both administration and lay formation.
Lilian is very excited to begin this new chapter at St. Michael the Archangel and can’t wait to start serving this wonderful community!

Nos complace anunciar el nombramiento de Lilian Mendoza-Teran como Director Asociado del Ministerio Hispano, efectivo a partir del 21 de Octubre de 2025.
Lilian nació en Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, México, y pasó su adolescencia en La Paz, Baja California Sur. Es la menor de siete hermanos y la primera en su familia en cursar estudios universitarios, los cuales realizó en Mexicali, Baja California, donde conoció a su esposo. Tienen dos hijas, Lilian y Sofía. Con el tiempo, Lilian y su familia se mudaron a Thousand Oaks, California, y posteriormente a Carolina del Norte.
Lilian llega a San Miguel con cinco años de experiencia en el trabajo pastoral parroquial, desempeñándose más recientemente en St. Stephen en Sanford. Disfruta viajar, convivir con la naturaleza, pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos, bailar, leer un buen libro y aprender cosas nuevas. Además, sirvió como presidenta de una organización sin fines de lucro en su comunidad de Thousand Oaks, California.
En este nuevo puesto, Lilian colaborará estrechamente con nuestra comunidad hispana y con toda la parroquia. Será la principal responsable de organizar y coordinar todos los grupos, ministerios, programas e iniciativas relacionados con la evangelización y la formación laical de los miembros hispanos de San Miguel, abarcando tanto el ámbito administrativo como el formativo.
Lilian está muy entusiasmada por comenzar esta nueva etapa en San Miguel Arcángel y espera con alegría servir a esta maravillosa comunidad de fe.
