Hi! My name is Lilian Teran, and I am the Associate Director of Hispanic Ministry here at St. Michael the Archangel. I was born in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, and spent my teenage years in La Paz, Baja California Sur. I’m the youngest of seven siblings and the first in my family to attend college, which I did in Mexicali, Baja California, where I also met my husband, Jesus Teran. We have two wonderful daughters, Lilian and Sofía. Our family later moved to Thousand Oaks, California, and eventually made our way to North Carolina.

I come to St. Michael with over five years of experience in parish ministry, most recently at St. Stephen in Sanford. I enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, being with family and friends, dancing, reading a good book, and learning new things. While living in California, I also had the privilege of serving as president of a nonprofit organization in my community.

In this role, I’ll be working closely with our Hispanic community and the parish at large - organizing and coordinating all groups, ministries, programs, and initiatives related to evangelization and lay ministry for Hispanic members of St. Michael.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Lilian Terán y tengo el privilegio de servir como Directora Asociada del Ministerio Hispano aquí en San Miguel Arcángel.

Nací en Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, México, y pasé mi adolescencia en La Paz, Baja California Sur. Soy la menor de siete hermanos y la primera en mi familia en asistir a la universidad, la cual cursé en Mexicali, Baja California, donde también conocí a mi esposo, Jesús Terán. Dios nos ha bendecido con dos hijas maravillosas: Lilian y Sofía. Como familia, vivimos un tiempo en Thousand Oaks, California, y eventualmente nos establecimos en Carolina del Norte.

Llego a la parroquia de San Miguel con más de cinco años de experiencia en el ministerio parroquial, sirviendo más recientemente en la parroquia de San Esteban, en Sanford. Disfruto mucho viajar, convivir con la naturaleza, compartir con mi familia y amigos, bailar, leer un buen libro y seguir aprendiendo. Durante mi tiempo en California, también tuve el honor de servir como presidenta de una organización sin fines de lucro en mi comunidad.

En este nuevo llamado, estaré colaborando de cerca con nuestra comunidad hispana y con toda la parroquia, organizando y coordinando los grupos, ministerios, programas e iniciativas relacionadas con la evangelización y el ministerio laical de los miembros hispanos de San Miguel.
