FAQS
HOW DOES INTERMEDIATE SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION (ISP) WORK?
Traditionally, students receive First Eucharist in second grade at the age of reason (7). If your child is older than 7, he or she can still prepare for this sacrament. The Diocese of Raleigh calls for two years of Sacramental Preparation for families preparing for the First Eucharist, so your child will receive the sacrament in the spring of the second year of formation.
Students are placed in age-appropriate ISP classes. Those college-aged or above would attend OCIA to prepare for sacraments.
WHEN ARE ISP CLASSES HELD?
Traditional classroom programs run on Sundays from 3 pm to 4:15 pm.
Family Faith at Home program meets on the first Monday of each month from 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm. (Family Faith Program Information)
Students in their first year of preparation participate in family-based catechesis classes. You and your family will learn the basics of the Mass, liturgical calendar, prayers, and community.
Year Two students will celebrate their First Reconciliation (Confession) and learn about the Eucharist through activities, lessons, and workshops.
