My name is Bruce Mahlstadt, and I am grateful to serve as the Maintenance Supervisor at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

I bring more than six years of hands-on experience as a skilled handyman, with a background that includes work in residential homes, apartment complexes, commercial spaces, and HUD properties. My experience includes project management, basic plumbing and electrical work, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and the use of power tools—skills I am excited to place in service of our parish community.

Beyond my professional experience, I have always felt called to serve others. I previously served as a Volunteer Coordinator at the Wayne County Museum and have been actively involved with the Knights of Columbus, where I organized and led free home-repair workshops to teach practical skills such as basic electrical work, plumbing, and drywall repair. I have also volunteered with the Helping Hands Ramp Ministry, helping build handicap ramps for low-income individuals with disabilities. In addition, I have led a St. Joseph the Worker workshop, sharing handyman skills in a way that brings together faith and service.

I am a convert to the Catholic faith, and my wife and I are parishioners of St. Mary Parish in Goldsboro. My wife is also a longtime parishioner of Saint Ann Catholic Church and currently works in Fuquay-Varina. We are planning to relocate to the area from Dudley in the near future.

I officially joined the St. Michael staff on January 26 and am grateful to be working alongside Ken Nelson and the facilities team as we care for and maintain the parish grounds and buildings. I look forward to serving this community and supporting the mission of the Church in every way I can.
