If you want to make a physical mark on the world, consider joining our Habitat for Humanity build team and put the corporal work of mercy "shelter the homeless" into action.
This ministry is perfect for those sixteen and older who want to give back to the community.
For nearly 30 years, St. Michael has been supporting Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. The Habitat for Humanity Ministry is excited to announce that in the upcoming months, we will be collaborating with Mother Teresa Catholic Church and a coalition of other churches to build new homes, making the dream of affordable housing possible for many families. This year the coalition will build homes in a community at 925 Ridge Rock Road, Raleigh.
SAINT MICHAEL AND MOTHER TERESA BUILD WEEKS
This year, we have been assigned two build weeks. St. Michael and Mother Teresa hope to provide 45 workers over a 3-day period each build week (10 workers each Thursday and Friday and 25 on Saturday. Build days are approximately 6-8 hours in length. Volunteers must be able to take on physical labor outdoors. If you are not able to help with the actual build, there is the opportunity to provide lunch for those working on the build. Please prayerfully consider working on this important project whether it be helping with the actual build or providing meals (kids/families welcome to provide meals). For more information, please email habitat@stmcary.org.

We recommend you bring lawn chairs for breaks/lunch, and although provided, if you have a favorite pair of work gloves, safety glasses, or hard hat please feel free to bring them. On wet days you might want to consider bringing an extra pair of clean shoes for the ride home. We will spend a lot of time out in the sun, so you might want to consider bringing sunscreen.
