Greetings! My name is Dcn. Anthony Favale and I was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on May 19, 2007, in the Diocese of Brooklyn at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

I was married for 43 years to my late wife and best friend, Barbara, and together we were blessed with three children - Anthony, Kimberly, and Samantha - and three grandchildren: Nolan, Archer, and Ivy. Family remains a central gift in my life, and I am grateful for the love and support they continue to share with me.

Professionally, I am a retired Senior Court Clerk from the Kings County Family Court in Brooklyn, New York. I have also served the Church as Director of Faith Formation at St. Finbar Catholic Church in Brooklyn and later at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Wendell, North Carolina. I was a parishioner at St. Finbar for 65 years before relocating to North Carolina, and I am deeply thankful to now continue my ministry here at St. Michael the Archangel.

I first felt the call to a vocation as a child, when I wanted to become a priest. As life unfolded, I came to understand that God had other plans for me when I met Barbara. After many years of volunteering in parish life, and with the encouragement of a former pastor, I began to prayerfully discern a call to the Diaconate. With trust in God, I entered formation and immersed myself fully in the program until my ordination.

The greatest joy of my ministry is being with the People of God and serving their needs. Whether assisting at the sacraments, praying with someone in times of sorrow, or sharing in moments of joy, I am continually reminded that we are not meant to walk this journey alone. We are companions to one another on the path of faith.

My favorite saints are St. Peter and St. Paul. St. Peter reminds me that even in our weakness, God continues to love us and entrusts us with His mission. St. Paul reminds me that conversion is not a single moment but a lifelong journey - one that continually leads us closer to Christ and, through Him, to the Father.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.
