My name is Bruce Mahlstadt, and I am grateful to serve as the Maintenance Supervisor at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

I bring more than six years of hands-on experience as a skilled handyman, having worked in residential homes, apartment complexes, commercial spaces, and HUD properties. My background includes project management, basic plumbing and electrical work, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and the use of power tools—skills I am grateful to place in service of our parish campus.

Beyond my professional experience, I have a strong heart for service and leadership. I previously served as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Wayne County Museum, where I was also a board member and participated in several committees focused on organizing events and facilities maintenance. I have also been an active member of the Knights of Columbus, including creating and organizing a free program with Council #5487 (Goldsboro) called St. Joseph’s Workshop, centered on teaching practical life skills such as home repair and financial literacy. In addition, I served for several years with the Helping Hands Ramp Ministry, a program organized by First Baptist Church in Goldsboro that focuses on building handicap ramps for low-income individuals and households.

I am a convert to the Catholic faith and was confirmed in 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Goldsboro. My wife, Clair, a longtime parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church, moved to the area a year later, and we first met during Adoration. We were married at St. Mary’s in November 2025 and have since relocated to the Holly Springs area, where we are parishioners of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Fuquay-Varina.

I joined the St. Michael staff in January 2026 and am grateful to be working alongside Ken Nelson and the facilities team to help care for and maintain our parish grounds and buildings. I look forward to serving this parish community.
