Hello! I am Dara Hadley, the Middle School Youth Minister at St. Michael's. I coordinate the youth formation programs for children in 3rd-8th grade, continuing to create a space where young people can grow in their faith and build strong relationships with Jesus and each other. I moved to Cary when I was ten and have been a part of St. Michael’s ever since. I’m one of three siblings—an older sister, a younger brother, and we all live in the Triangle area along with most of our extended family. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends through road trips, movie nights, Sunday pasta lunches, and family walks. I also enjoy live music and occasionally make trips to the record shop or bookstore.
I find great joy in praying with scripture, especially the Gospels, and I’m especially drawn to the words of Jesus in John 15: “abide in me.” One of my first church memories is singing Tantum Ergo as a little girl, and music has continued to be a special part of my faith journey. I grew up in Challenge, the girls' program I now lead, and it was through that program that I first encountered Jesus as a friend. It was there that I formed lifelong friendships, fell in love with my faith, and learned how to be a leader and role model to those I mentored. I now strive to create the same experience for the Middle School Youth. My favorite part of the ministry is seeing the kids laugh, play, and grow in their faith. I love joining them for group prayer, hearing their thoughts on the Gospel, and watching them light up when they make new connections. I’m also deeply inspired by our youth mentors and find it incredibly rewarding to see them grow into passionate disciples of Christ.
If you’re interested in learning more about our programs or are looking for a way to serve the youth of our parish, please reach out! I would love to have you join us in this ministry.
