IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING OUR 25TH CELEBRATION EVENTS

Dear Friends in Christ,

It is with sadness that I share with you that we have decided to cancel the events of our 25th Anniversary Parish Social. This includes the Fiesta San Miguel scheduled for October 2nd and the Parish Celebration planned for October 3rd. We had hoped to use these events to bring our community together in a fun way, celebrating both our anniversary and the post-COVID return of large-scale parish events. Given the rise in cases and the level of concern surrounding large gatherings, that no longer seems wise. This decision was made in consultation with our entire staff and in prayerful discernment that led me to the conviction that changing our plans is the best way we can continue our mission right now.

There is still so much to celebrate, and our Renew, Refresh, Refocus and Celebrate! campaign remains in full swing. If you received the mailer we sent out recently, you can see that the events scheduled for October 2nd and 3rd were only one part of the campaign. The rest of the information shared with you there makes clear just how much we still have to look forward to. We are also making alternate plans to find fun ways to celebrate that weekend and will be announcing those details once we can confirm them.

Though we all love a good party, the heart of who we are is found in our core mission of discipleship to Christ through worship, education, and service. This decision is motivated by what I believe to be best for continuing that mission in the present circumstances. I want to thank the staff, volunteers, and all of you who continue to dedicate so much to our parish-wide renewal. God willing, we can plan to celebrate our 25+1 Anniversary in a big way next September.

God bless you and keep you,

Fr. Michael
