You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lamp stand, where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.

Pastoral Care Desk
The purpose of the Pastoral Care Desk at St. Michael the Archangel Church is to reach out to people in the name of Christ. We receive calls daily requesting assistance. We proactively call the sick and the elderly of our parish each week. We listen to the needs of parishioners, as well as others in the community, and help direct them to appropriate parish ministries, as well as other outreach agencies.
The Pastoral Care Desk can connect those in need with our priests and other pastoral care ministries such as:
- Homebound Eucharist Visits
- Meals in Need
- Distribution of Eucharist at Rex Hospital
- Distribution of Eucharist to Cary rest homes
- Volunteer Caregivers
- Elizabeth Ministry (Visitation to the Sick and Homebound)
- Prayer Blankets Ministry
- Prayers of the Faithful
- Emergency assistance
The Pastoral Care Desk can connect Parishioners and non parishioners to other community resources, as well.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our brothers and sisters. The Pastoral Care Desk at St. Michael is one of the ways we fulfill the commandment of Jesus to “glorify our heavenly Father.” If you would be willing to help serve our brothers and sisters, please see our Outreach and Social Ministries brochure to learn about the opportunities available in our parish.
