Ministry Description:

Volunteers needed to sponsor youth during formation of the sacrament.

What this ministry can do for you:

This ministry is an opportunity for you to help guide a high school teen through a process that helps them prepare for their lifelong journey in the Catholic Church. As a conformation sponsor you will help your candidate answer questions which he/she may have about his/her faith life and spirituality. Hopefully this will also be a time for you to learn from your candidate through discussion and sharing, as you develop a mentoring relationship as a good role model of an active, participating Catholic Christian. As you stand with your candidate as he/she receives the sacrament, you'll know you've been a positive influence in the life of a young person who has come to a deeper committment to God.

Membership Profile:

• Must have received the sacrements of initiation (Basptism,Confirmation,and Eucharist)
• Be at least 16 years old
• Not a parent of the candidate
• Regulary attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation
• Participate in monthy Confirmation Sessions with the candidate
• Support candidates involvement in the LifeTeen Program
• Participate in Service Projects with candidate if Possible
• Attend the Confirmation Liturgy and rehersal
